The Story of SpiderDad

Hello, and thank you for visiting my website. I thought it would be appropriate to tell you a little about myself and how this website came to be. It all started with my son Jayden, who grew up adoring Spiderman. He loved everything about this superhero. A fun loving little boy with a cheeky personality. However, when he was 4yrs old, we received news that no parent should hear. He was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme Tumour in the brain stem. The worst possible place and completely in-operable. His condition was terminal.

Our entire family were devastated by the news. We searched the internet looking for cures and remedies to try and help but unfortunately the tumour was growing to fast. In the mean time, we wanted to create as many fun and happy memories with Jayden as possible, with the time we had left. We was blessed with the community, family and friends raising funds to ensure this became a reality, and as a result we was able to take Jayden to DisneyLand to see Spiderman, Mickey and all his favourite characters. We took a helicopter ride, had fun days out together as a family, and so much more. Creating some really happy memories.

Jayden's 5th birthday was coming up, so I wanted to do something super special for him. So I had a replica Spiderman suit made for me to surprise him on his birthday in front of family and friends. I wanted to make it as real as possible so I jumped from the roof of our front porch down to the ground, just as Jayden stepped out to see who knocked at the door. Here's a video of this special moment.

The video became an instant success and went viral all over the world. To this day it has over 18 million views and still rising. I uploaded the video mainly so I could always return to this memory in the future. 

When Jayden passed in 2014, I wanted to do something that he could look down and be proud of. So I began to use Spiderman as a way to share happiness with other families. Providing birthday appearances and personal Spiderman video messages. I also worked closely with Naomi House, helping with charity work, raising money to help fund their incredible facility. Naomi House will always have a special place with our family due to the incredible support they provided us.
